Frico Cups is an Italian dish that basically made up of crispy fried cheese. These crunchy cups filled with tasty mixture of different types of veggies, bacons tomatoes and spices are very simple to prepare. These make perfect little appetizer nibbles for parties.

Ingredients that you need for this tasty frico recipe
- 2 cups grated Parmesan cheese (about 8 ounces) For the filling
- 1 cup chopped spinach
- 4 slices bacon, cooked and cracked into small pieces
- 1 cup quartered yellow tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon salt, and paprika powder (or as per taste)
- 2 ounces blue cheese, crumbled (about ½ cup), for garnish.
How to Make frico
- Preheat the oven to 375 °F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Drop 1 large tablespoon of the Parmesan cheese into one of the opening of the muffin pan and use your fingers to spread the cheese to fill the cup, Then throw over the cheese out onto the prepared baking sheet. Repeat until you have 12 cups of cheese, and put them about 2 inches away on the baking sheet.
- Bake the cheese cups for 5 minutes, or until lightly browned.
- Then put them again in the muffin pan and let them cool a bit.
- Place the spinach, bacons, yellow tomatoes, salt, paprika, and Mayo in a small bowl and stir well to combine. Fill each frico cup with 2 tablespoons of the mixture. Garnish with the parsley and blue
- Cheese and serve with garlic sauce.
Tips
- Make sure you have the filling ready to go just before serving; if you fill the frico cups too early before serving, they can get a bit soft and lose their crispiness.
